Getting started... today.

What can you start doing today? I usually start the day off by reading my iGoogle home page. The page is a collection of different news feeds and blogs I've chosen. iGoogle is easy to set up and build. It posts the 3 latest RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feeds from sites of your choosing. You can see if anything new has been posted.

Perhaps you can start there. Here's the link to a video that will help you set it up.

You could add your first blog to iGoogle. Guy Kawaski is the author of The Art of the Start. He may provide the inspiration you need!

A silver-lining!

These are tough times, no doubt. How are many companies dealing with it? They're cutting back and trying to tough it out. Promotions are being eliminated.

These can be the best of times.

1. The chance of being heard above the noise is multiplied as the advertising noise reduces.

2. Attention you can conjure up for your company will be invariably uncontested for months on end.

Your more timid competitors will fall behind and likely never catch up as you aggressively advertise during these times. These can be great times for a growing company.
